The best way to prevent cervical cancer is to find changes in the cervix before cancer develops. This used to be via a test called the Pap smear, and that name has stuck although the new method is actually better called a cervical screening test (CST) which looks for the HPV virus which causes cancer.
All our doctors are happy to perform CSTs but there are times when we run a bulk-billed “pap smear clinic” on a weekend. These clinics are only for CSTs and no other issues will be addressed during those appointments. If you would prefer to attend one of these sessions, please ask reception for the date of the next clinic.
